Very cute. And so are the birds! They bring back wonderful memories as well! The "depression" piece is very interesting. Very deep and so many emotions in it. Am looking forward to seeing how it evolvesWandahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08987178371117192422noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18204679.post-62009365454332678762009-06-25T00:15:33.052-07:002009-06-25T00:15:33.052-07:00I found your depression piece quite recognizable. ...I found your depression piece quite recognizable. That vortex of darkness, & being sucked into it.. the light needs to be quite dim. You don't strike me as a person who has struggled with depression, but I can tell you that when I'm climbing back out of that deep dark hole, you are describing exactly how I feel! Can't wait to see what you do with it!

xoJudyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04787074582148834510noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18204679.post-49534291295405048512009-06-24T08:08:17.634-07:002009-06-24T08:08:17.634-07:00Oooh...so much depth to that quilt already. What might seem like all just dark fabric in any other quilt is really dark, darker, darkest fabric in this kind of project. Plus little flashes of light are so meaningful.Nina Mariehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14316034317827146338noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18204679.post-29484057707219275022009-06-24T03:07:22.833-07:002009-06-24T03:07:22.833-07:00Joyce-I think you have hit on a great subject matt...Joyce-I think you have hit on a great subject matter for your quilts. Those colors are dark, you can't see into them, and they are heavy-all things that I personally associate with depression. I just read something yesterday about symbols, images, and personal meaning. Everybody sees something a little different and all interpretations are valid. If the cross were brighter, for me anyway, it would really standout as something hopeful.Libby Fifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13532162740012986996noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18204679.post-78916931347615003472009-06-23T23:11:11.002-07:002009-06-23T23:11:11.002-07:00PS: Your bird will appear in the "Bird"...PS: Your bird will appear in the "Bird" Picassa album when another bird's picture gets sent to me and I post about them.Nellie's Needleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12468773469685787840noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18204679.post-14362250705027691132009-06-23T23:08:31.652-07:002009-06-23T23:08:31.652-07:00I used to have mice like that. Her scrawny wire legs add to the effect.

As for your depression piece, I do not see that as a cross, but hands on a clock, which makes me think of eternity rather than depression.Nellie's Needleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12468773469685787840noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18204679.post-70295632674108776062009-06-23T19:26:06.792-07:002009-06-23T19:26:06.792-07:00I have one of those little wooden mice.
