And your planned modifications sound ...Looks good! And your planned modifications sound good. Another you may consider, is an adjustable strap. I like that mine can be shortened to carry it over my shoulder and the purse nestles into my side. It can be lengthened if I ever need to carry it securely by putting the strap diagonally across my chest/back.
