I finally decided that the tails just weren't working on this one so I went with just beads. I haven't put any beads on the body of the piece, although that is still an option. Sometimes, less is more.
Really nice, does feel like a dark sky. Was it hard to envelope it with those uneven side edges? Did you just cut into the seam allowances on the intersections to turn it crisply?
I was once advised, when talking makeup, or fashion, that less is always more. It is good advice, & I think it served me well, in lots of areas of my life.
I think that you have made a good choice to go with the beads rather than the tails. Somehow they seem to balance it better.

ReplyDeleteIt turned out great!
ReplyDeleteSo dramatic!
ReplyDeleteAnother very effective piece Joyce! Love it! I don't think it needs any more embellishments... 8-)
ReplyDeleteGlad you solved your design dilemma.
ReplyDeleteThe name captures the piece...or is the other way around? Dark skies aren't necessarily bad and that's what this piece says to me. Very nice
ReplyDeleteAh yes...I do like the more petite scaled tails myself.
ReplyDeleteYour hand dyeds are to die for!
A perfect finish.
ReplyDeleteThe beads do work better than the tails.
ReplyDeleteOooooh I love this! Love love love this!
