I have cobbled the houses together but after I got the side borders on I realized it's not square. The top is 38 inches and the bottom is only 37. I'll have to take those side borders off and square the thing.
I'm auditioning the black paw print fabric for borders. They will be narrower but I do like the dark around the edges.

You're amazing. Everytime I think, "This may not work so well", you come back with something great! Eventhough the land between the houses seemed to line up in rows, making horizontal sashing appropriate, I was thinking also vertical sashing was the way to go, but I didn't say anything because it's so standard. But the yellow was an inspired choice, adding such a happy feel to the whole. Super!
I think the border is perfect too!
I love it with the yellow!
I looks great. I think the black paw print will work good for the borders.
What a shame to have to undo, but you will be happier once it is done.
When I was a member of our local quilt guild I remember one of the speakers saying that you should always have a dark border on a quilt to give the eye someplace to stop. Of course, those so-called rules are meant to be broken!!
I love the idea of building dog houses! You can hardly go wrong with such cute blocks. ;- )
adorable little doggies in adorable little houses!
ugh! hate when I can't get a quilt square - that was just happening on to me on my Christmas quilt! sighhhhhh
What a shame. Never mind. An inch is too much out to leave it.
The paw print fabric is a great idea.
i can see that it's not quite square - pain in the bum! but i really like how all the squares are different sizes and stuff. looks really cute!
Glad to see you back in the studio!
