I often bake bread. These are just out of the oven. They are multi grain. There are probably ten or twelve kinds of grain and potatoes in them. I have been baking my own bread for years and we are so spoiled that we can hardly eat store bought bread any more.
Or we help Summer celebrate her 13th birthday with a home made chocolate cake.

want to come to my house and bake? :-)
Happy Birthday to Summer...great name... Homemade bread --- you are a busy woman. My Mom does that and at the holidays makes it for gifts. Me, a sunday trip to the Bakery is the best I can do right now...but one day...

I have a breadmaker but don't use it enough. Perhaps i should get out on the weekend and bake some bread. I also use it to make up pizza dough. Then my two DDs put the toppings on.
Mmm, delicious. I grew up with home-baked bread. My mom had a big contraption that would grind the wheat (or rice etc) and then had the mixer with the dough hook. I remember when we first got it - my dad would say how much each loaf cost. But since my Mom made bread every week, that pretty much dwindled down to nothing. Dad and I used to "fight" over who got the warm crusty ends of the first loaf out of the oven.
mmmmmmmmmm I can smell that bread right over here in the UK - looks delicious, sadly bread's one thing I've never been successful with - maybe I should have another go sometime
The bread looks yummy! I am a bread maker too.....I love the smell of it even as much as the taste. My speciality is Foccacia Bread.( with rock salt, black olives and Parmasan cheese on top )ENJOY!
Ooo, I so love to bake bread and do it ab out twice a week! If you ever have time and/or would be willing to share your recipe for your bread - please do!
Beautiful bread, Joyce. I think Dilly Bread is my favorite to bake.
OOOH they both look yummy.
Yummy! I'd be too tempted to eat half the loaf hot from the oven if baked my own. Not to mention I don't know how!
Ohhh, your home made bread looks wonderful. I can smell it from here! Happy birthday to Summer, she's a brand new teenager!
*hugs*
