Another one Done

I quilted another one today. I was much faster at loading this one. I had already pieced and squared up the backing so that helped. I had to sew two pieces of batting together but I felt very good about stash busting my batting. I have a lot of small pieces of batting that take up a LOT of room. I think I'll have to make some pillows or a big long bolster. Anyway, once the quilt was loaded it really didn't take long to quilt it. I only had to change bobbins once so that was a help. It is not a very big quilt, only about 5 feet square but it will be a nice lap quilt or kid's quilt. My pile of "to be quilted" is shrinking but my pile of "to be bound" is growing.
I don't know if you read Pat Sloane's blog, but even if you aren't a regular reader, pop over there and leave a comment. She knows she has over 1000 visitors a day and is trying to get 1000 comments. Talk about flushing out the lurkers! When I last checked she was only at 365. Only 365? I am stoked if I get over 20 comments!

wonderful quilt. I love it - very happy. the quilting looks great. I don't envy you the binding pile - I've got one of those myself...

How fun to read that you are doing so well with your new quilting set-up - at quilt #2!!! Way to go!!! This is a bright and fun quilt.

Cheers!

That's a lovely quilt! Looks like you've found your groove! I like binding the best. It means you're almost done. It doesn't take long and it allows you to reflect over your quilt. I find it soothing.

Gosh, I can't imagine having 365 comments - I'm like you - if I get over 20, I get really excited. But that's about all I can read in a day if I want to get anything done!

I love that nice bright scrappy quilt!
Wow, how would she find time to read all those comments if it gets to 1000!

Loading the quilts has to be the most important part. That is one of the reasons I haven't gotten serious about a frame yet. It looks like you're really getting the hang of using it.
Ah, yes, binding. I just finished quilting 2 that I had started a couple months ago. I'm just finishing the binding on the second one now, not my favorite part.

Ooops, I missed out on helping Pat Sloan -- but I'm with you on being thrilled with more than 20. Actually, I'm tickled with 10, or, well, any even!

Love the quilt -- and isn't it a good feeling to see the "to be quilted" pile dwindle (even if it does mean the "to be bound" pile is growing!)

Great quilt. You can take those small batting leftovers and zigzag them together to make one big one. I've done it-don't tell the quilt police...smile
