This weekend was our son-in-law, Joe's, birthday party. On Friday there was a big house party and on Saturday a cricket match followed by drinks and awards at the Bowling Club. On Sunday there was a lawn bowling competition, which Joe and his partner, Tim won by a narrow margin over Marcel (is it cool to beat your father-in-law?) and his partner, Matt.
While the cricket match was on, someone spotted a Goanna (not sure of the spelling here), which is pretty big and scary looking. Someone told us that they are quite dangerous and can claw you badly. Hence, the distance photography.
This is a picture of the point of red rocks that give the town it's name. Our ambition is to walk down the beach to Corindi, the next town. It is a 6 km (3.7 mile) walk so we have to choose a day that is not too hot and a time when the tide is low. Stay tuned for how that turns out.

I don't think I would have liked to have seen that Goanna! Yuck!!!
I have only seen the goannas at the Australian Wildlife Park, but they can chase people apparently.
It does look like you are having fun. The weather has been strange, but we had a couple of really nice days down here.
That's a gorgeous ocean view. Looks like a quilt could come out of that....
The snow is beginning to melt away a bit here...so I can imagine it is nearly the same for your "real" home. Enjoy your time!
