Byron Bay and Brisbane

I have been away from the computer for the last week. We took a road trip up the coast to Byron Bay and Brisbane. Byron is a beautiful spot with a famous lighthouse. It also has the most eastern point in Australia. We stayed there two nights and were lucky enough to be there on market day.

We also stopped at the Natural Bridge. The water has worn away a cave leaving a bridge of stone. There is a walkway through the temperate rain forest and you can go into the cave. We saw bats and at night there are glow worms but they must sleep in the daytime.

We went on to Brisbane, where our daughter and son-in-law had gotten us tickets to see Cyndi Lauper in concert. What a fantastic show that was! I have never seen anyone with so much energy. She sang all of our old favorites and a few new ones as well. We totally enjoyed that evening.
Finally, here I am enjoying an early morning latte (well, actually waiting for it to be delivered in this photo) at a seaside restaurant in Byron. What a life!

Ahh Byron Bay - one of my favourite places. ( Hopefully I'll be there for Easter) And Brisbane - well, it's a nice place to live. If you are still around , or coming back let me know and I can take you to a quilt shop or two ( or if you don't need that somewhere else) Glad to see you enjoying your stay over here.

You look so well! Australia is obviously doing you a lot of good after all that snow and ice back home. Gorgeous photos.

Found any quilt shops yet?

Wow, what lovely photos. I rather like snakes & find the feel of them quite nice. Not the poisonous ones of course!
Looks & sounds like you are having a super time!

Wonderful photos (well except the snake that it - ok he is rather beautiful but only at a distance) so envious of you with the Cyndi Lauper concert - have always been a big fan and have now indoctrinated DD1 too

Oh, did you slip in a post card or professional print for the picture with the light house? That is soooo stunning. I love, love, love it. Keep having a wonderful vacation. :)

Looks like you are having fun and absorbing lots of vitamin D from the sun. Great water features and the lighthouse photo is charming.

Enjoy the rest of your stay.
