The Last Pillow of the Series?

This may be the last pillow before we leave but you never know. Snow makes a perfect background for pillow photos.

I accidentally used one of my two way purse zippers on the back. I didn't notice until I was all finished. It will stay there for now but if I ever need it for a purse, I'll have to take the whole pillow apart to get it out.

Another Pillow

Since we are leaving in a few days, I don't want to start any big projects. Hence, another pillow. This one has a rose made using Shiva paintsticks in the middle. The pink border is outlined with black piping. The back is the gray polka dot with a pink zipper. Pillows are a great way to use up scraps of batting but they probably wouldn't be very comfortable to use for more than decoration.

Pillow Number Three

I couldn't resist making one more pillow. It's a great way to get rid of leftover scraps of batting.
I have decided that snow is the perfect background for quilt pictures. I should really do a big session and photograph all my quilts outside.

Pillow Number Two

Here is the second pillow for the pillow contest I mentioned in the last post. You can enter two so I thought I'd do one without words. The center is hand dyed fabrics with tiny pompoms. It doesn't show in the picture but the pompoms glitter with gold and silver. The rickrack also has gold in it. I remember now why I seldom miter corners. This pillow is about 17 inches square.

Pillow Contest

Sew Mama Sew is having a pillow making contest that has an iron as first prize. I thought I'd enter the Words to Live By contest. It's good practise with wonky letters. This is what I have so far. I'll be doing quite a lot more embellishing. I'm thinking more yoyos might do the trick. Or beads... The yoyos in the picture are not sewn on. I'll be playing a lot more with the placement.
Voting has started on the Love Nest Quilt Contest. Be sure to pop over and vote for your favorite.

New Kitty Corner and Another Pillow

This afternoon I made another pillow. I'm not totally happy with this one. I love the stripy fabric but I only had a bit left that was cut on the bias for binding. It sort of ruffles and doesn't make really nice mitred corners but the color was so perfect that I went with it anyway.

I've started another Kitty Corner wall hanging. This one is going to be all winter with white fabric on the bottom to indicate snow. I love the swirly one. Who would have thought that fabric would look like snow! I have a red house with a neat black roof half done. I plan to make quite a few more so I'll have a village.

Pillow

I started quilting the 16 patch this afternoon. I'm doing a random loopy pattern but it doesn't show up very well in the photo.

This is the first in a series of pillows from Asian fabric from Jo-Ann fabrics. I have the second one almost done but I need a pink zipper so I'll have to go shopping tomororw.

Another Pillow

Another pillow top and another UFO used up. I was trying a technique from Quilter's Playtime and it never made it into a wall hanging.

This morning I made Ratatouille-Moussaka which is veggies (sweet potato, eggplant, zucchini, onion, tomato, garlic, mushroom) roasted in the oven and then topped with white sauce, egg and ricotta and sprinkled with Parmesan. It was delicious but most of it went into the freezer. It was much too big for the two of us.

A Pillow For Sure

This one is unquestionably a pillow. It already has the pillow inside the cover. I think it looks quite spring-like. It's a bit smaller than the others I have been making.

Lynne asked to see yesterday's pillow with the quarter turn so here it is.
