More Indian Summer
Too bad we aren't actually having Indian Summer. It has cooled off considerably and there is ice on the water this morning.
Here are a couple of arrangements that I've come up with so far. The second line of hills is the only change between the two pictures. I haven't decided which I like better. The turquoise in the foreground will be a stream or a pond. It won't be as long as this. The big black thing is, as Judy suggested, a big old tree. Maybe the blue jay will sit on it if I can figure out how to make it. Maybe this is the time to learn how to print on cloth from the computer. I'm not sure how many different techniques I need on one quilt though , and I do want it to still be wonky enough to match the letters.

looking really great! I love the idea of a stream or pond too.
This is looking more and more interesting ... wish I could step over that imaginary line from almost traditional to artistic ... LOVE the quirkiness (not exactly right work) of this project. Lettering is terrific!
Looks good, and I'm eager to see the continued progress. I love that sky on the left!
Joyce you said you were having trouble with the middle, but it looks like you're getting some inspiration! The 'black thing'/tree looks a little out of place to me, but since it's a wonky quilt that really doesn't matter!
This is looking great! I have fabric with blue jays on it (4" long from beak to tail and about 1-1/2" and 2" high) that you could fussy cut out and applique on. Just let me know and they are yours for the asking. I can take a photo and email it to you if you want a better look.
