Luggage Tags

This morning I made a backing for another UFO so that when I get some batting I will be able to get right at it. Making backing is not my favorite part and I've found out that it's really, really important to get it perfectly square when you are using the frame.

For a little fun break after that I made some luggage tags. I saw some on Morah's blog and on a couple of craft sites and thought that it was a great idea. I combined several of the patterns and came up with these. We are going to be traveling to Australia and China in Feb and March and we need some sort of easy identification for our bags. I still need a few more. It's a great way to use up those little bits of fabric that you love but don't have much of. That sentence looks like poor grammar but you get my meaning.

Those tags are a great idea!
You will find a temperature shock when you come over here!! But you already know that, so after your deepest winter, I am sure you wont mind some heat!

I love the luggage tags, great idea. The clear plastic you have used, did you buy that specially, or is it 'off' something else?

Luggage tags! Super. My luggage has different colors of yarn attached to the handles.

I wondering if i should make up some tags for Alex's ski-ing trip in February. At least she'll know her own bag! Australia and China -wooo hooo!

very smart idea. we're always looking for the black luggage with silver electrical tape. this is much classier. your trip sounds wonderful.

Those are great luggage tags - mine are BRIGHT GREENISH/YELLOW - anything to make my bag to stand out from everyone else's. I also tie red bandanas to my handles. You will be all ready for your upcoming BIG trips!

Cheers!

Oh...do I see another artsy "movement" happening here? We've colored the postal world with fiber art postcards...now we're coloring the airlines and the railways with luggage tags! What would this world do without us?!?

Love your snowy picture in the previous post. How dreamy. Now...if only it weren't so frigid, right?! Hope the drizzles stay away from us!

The luggage tags are lovely. How clever to have the details inside, away from prying eyes! I made something much simpler for my daughter last year, but it just has her name on it. She found it took the hassle out of standing by the luggage carousel.
