Not Quite So Wonderful

It has been snowing hard all night. We usually go to town to grocery shop on Tuesdays. We should have gone on Monday this week. We went in spite of the snow and made it all the way into the yard before getting stuck. We did have a bit of trouble in the lane but managed to make it. This is not as bad as it looks. Five minutes of shoveling and we were out, turned around and plugged in. It's supposed to go down to -28 tonight so the car has to be plugged in if we want to start it.I'm not sure why we would start it though, because I'm pretty sure we can no longer get down the lane. Still, it's incredibly beautiful and so silent.

I made a few more luggage tags. I found out that it's a great way to use up a lot of 4 inch orphan blocks that I have sitting around. I sew two together, line them, sew a bit of plastic to the lining for the name card (you could sew the name on the lining or just use a pen to write it on), interface and sew them together with a string of some sort at one corner. Turn them, add a bit of velcro and voila!

Oh my Joyce!!! That's alot of snow!
We got 6" on Saturday, and it's been snowing all day today, but NOTHING like that much.
Glad there wasn't anything dire to attend to in town. Better to be hunkered down making backings or luggage tags(which are adorable by the way)!
And just think...it's not even winter yet! Hugs, Finn

Wow - that's a lot of snow and a SUPER cold low temp for tonight - I complain when we dip to the 40's and 50's *s* Those luggage tags are fantastic - just the right bit of color to get your attention at the luggage carousel.

We've got that snow, but not those temps! That's too cold! Good thing you've got yourself a new quilt for the car, you're going to need it!

Just stay home and sew and ignore the freezing weather!!

The luggage tages look nice...they will sure help you find your suitcases in the sea of look-alike bags on the conveyor belts at the airport!

Those tags are excellent!
All that snow might be a TAD too much for me!

It seems to be a big mess of snow and rain all across Canada!! Hopefully you can get out soon.

Sounds like a wonderful trip you are planning -- Australia and China - and from the look of how many luggage tags you are making you will be taking a lot of luggage - LOL

I was thinking about you this morning when I heard that the Red River Valley had up to 9 inches of snow last night. Hope all is well for you!

I bet you're missing Simba, frolicking around in the deep snow!

Wow -- lots of snow. (I'd be more impressed with the temp if you weren't giving it in C. It's cold alright -- but, well, I have the feeling both of us will be talking about much colder later) Stay safe and warm! Love the luggage tags!
