I think I am finished piecing this first quilt. I am thinking of backing it with the heavy interfacing that I bought to make bags. It's the only way I can think of for dealing with the uneven top for hanging. I'm not sure about all the dangly pieces either but that will probably go on as the last step.
I also made a few new blocks. I suppose these will become the second it a series. I am using much more subdued colors on this one.

If you do facings for the edges after it is quilted, you can just put the stiff interfacing in the top part between the facing and the quilt with a few stitches to anchor it.
Also, the dangly pieces can be inserted between the quilt and the bottom facing when they are right sides together and sewn in that way.
The blocks on the left look like a stack of wood blocks and remind me of a stack of nested boxes I've never posted! Voila - what good ideas and inspirations we all share with one another! 8-))
I'm very interested to see how it turns out. I love all the fun colors.
Works of art Joyce! Works of art indeed! 8-)
Aha, is this the rest after the rush??
I like the finished object. I like it's quirkiness!
Oooh. And the new one evokes a whole new sense for me. Very earthy...so rich with warm color.
I like this piece very much. Lovely colours and it looks like you had a lot of fun making it.
This piece is looking fabulous! The colours and shapes are so good together.
