New Dyes

Today I tried out some dyes that I have had for awhile but never used. The brown one is called Bronze and I really like the organic looking pattern that happened. The other is called Antique Gold but it looks like yellow to me. I guess that is what gold is, really. I might try to make the bronze a bit more intense the next time but I like it a lot as a neutral maybe with my green collection.
I have only one side to go on the Wonky Log Cabin and then the binding is on. I'll call it finished even though I haven't even made the label yet, let alone sewn it on.

Love the effects of those dyes.
They will surely work very nicely.

I have never tried dyeing- except some Hotel Towels once! They were a success. Farm workers dont need WHITE towels! What was the previous owner thinking?

the yellow/gold is nice and splochy... should work into lots of things well...

I love the gold. It has a hint of darkness that does strike me as antique, though maybe it's because it is the same shade as couches my parents had in the seventies? Love it, though!

I like them both! How did you make your splotches?

I'd like to try dyeing, but am afraid that it will just be 1 more thing to finish! They look great.

they both look great. Do you have any plans as to what project you will use them for?

To me, the gold just looks kind of yellow :) but I adore the bronze one. Might have to pick up some bronze dye myself - because of course I have no dyes at home that I've never tested (though to be fair, I do have lots that I HAVE used).
