Winter Wonders

Today the sun is shining again after a couple of days of snow. It is really a winter wonderland out there and hunting season is over so we can go out and enjoy it without the fear of being shot at.
The picture is of the trail we have made walking to our studio. It's only -16 and not windy at all so it will be a great afternoon for a walk.

I started loading the next quilt on the frame, trying to correct the numerous loading mistakes I made on the first one. The front of the finished one looks all right but the back is pretty lumpy and wavy around the borders. I'll put a binding on it anyway and it can live in the car for the winter or on the couch.

That quilt looks lovely.

I used to wear a hot pink sweater when I skated on our frozen pond because of hunters. Wish I still had that sweater, but I doubt if it would fit.

looks like quite the hike to the studio! Can imagine needing a rope to find your way home if a blizzard whips up...

Brrr, that field of snow looks cold! Has it made you think of more wintery words? Flurry? Frostbite? Sleet? Slush?

How about hoarfrost? I saw some when I was in Wisconsin for a visit one winter and it was just beautiful. :)

Wow -- and I thought our inch or so of ice was bad :0). Actually -- with no wind, you're better off than we are!

That snow pic is great. Winter is so pretty. All I think of are adjectives like shiny, calming, pure and glittering. It is always exciting to tackle a new skill. Enjoy.

How far is your studio from your home? It looks like you have to dress for the weather to get there!
