Beautiful Painting

Alison gave us this beautiful painting when she left yesterday. The colors are not very true in this photo but you get the idea.

I was going to go for a long walk and take photos of the hoar frost on all the trees, but then I heard gunshots. It's the last day of hunting season and, although our land is all posted, I thought it wiser to stay home. This is a bush at the end of our deck, which gives you a bit of an idea of how gorgeous the trees were this morning.

that is a beautiful painting. There is so much detail in the background.

It sounds like we are going to get snow tomorrow, way too soon in my opinion.

What a beautiful gift to remind you of your terrific time spent together...sharing art. Oh the detail!

We had much the same hoar frost here too. Although we always have to hold our breath, wondering if we'll be out of electricity with the weight on the electric lines...it is gorgeous to see...even in the daybreak hours. Seems to just glow.

The painting is very nice. So much detail. Even in the birds. Yes...best to stay indoors. Posts don't necessarily mean a thing to some hunters. Beautiful morning...aren't we all blessed!

We've had our first frosts too. Not as heavy as yours, but heavy enough!

Unfortunately our land is not posted. We have to apply to Mr le Maire to keep la chasse of the land and as our farmer is the ex-president of the Chasse Committee that isn't a good idea. They were on our land a few weeks ago trying to trap a wild boar. No success which is a bit of a shame - no haunch in the freezer for Christmas!

That painting reminded me of Frank Howell's work. Very similar. Lovely painting. I stay away from the lakes right now because of the duck hunters.

Such a beautiful painting, seems like you could keep looking at it for a long time.

Your bush is beautiful. We just drove home, 2 hours in the snow. It's much too early, but the first snow is always gorgeous.
