Red Sashing

I tried the red sashing and I have to say that I'm not crazy about it. I also tried moving the blocks so the sashing is thinnner and I still don't like it. It just seems to overpower the blokcs. I think if it is red it would have to be about the same with as the white part of the blocks. I may try that but first I'll audition some softer colors.

I'd think wide sashing in any color would overpower the blocks. I'd think the red the width of the cross lines would look good. Of course you never know till you try.

I think it is a cool look. why not sashing that is larger than blocks? Something different. go for it. Let the red rise above the rest!

You could also sew the blocks in groups of 4 or 9 and then the sashing should work fine.

I think the grouping idea sounds good. Or the sashing the same width as the white. I know you will find the right combo and it will look great!

Black or white is always a good foil. Maybe smaller though? I am not worried I have to say at this point. You always manage to pull it off!

To me you have a really visually interesting 3D effect going on.

I really enjoyed watching the process from start to finish. I don't think I play with sashing and borders enough. This was really inspirational to see the steps you took.
