Together at Last, But I Need a Fish
This one is finally pieced together. There must be a thousand short little seams in this quilt and quite a few long ones with points to match. Thank goodness for Elmer's School Glue. I do need a fish to cover up the mistake in the box below.
I am undecided about taking this section apart and trying again. The two reasons are: glue and bias seams. I'm afraid that by the time I pull the glue apart it will be stretched out and even worse than it is now. If I wet the seam well the glue should disappear though so maybe it's worth one try. I'll think about it tonight and see how I feel about it in the morning.
My question is whether it is finished or not. It is about 67inches by 65 and I have no idea how it ended up such an odd measurement. I'm pretty sure it should actually be square. I'm wondering if it needs another border. I have no more of the gray but maybe a pink border or perhaps a wide border of the original fabric? I'll be doing some auditioning tomorrow.

I LOOOOVE it!!! It reminds me of a coral garden...a fish would complete it! Beautiful!
This is by far one of your most beautiful works of art to date! Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WOW!!!
Perhaps there are more design choices to pieced quilts than you thought.
As for the bad match, I'd take it out. Just MHO. But I don't know what the glue would do though. I'd say wet it, let it dry and pick out the seams w/o pulling. Good luck.
I vote for no further border but how about a dark navy or black binding? It turned out great.
LOVE this! So stunning, Joyce...well done.
I am always one to shy away from many (or sometimes even any) borders, so perhaps I have a somewhat biased opinion of borders. I just love this as is. I feel that the grey truly frames the center. The whole pieces just is very pleasing to my eyes.
I have the One Block Wonder books but haven't been brave enough to dive in yet. BTW ~ love the saying on your profile. I definitely agree!
Hey Joyce! I'd say no more borders, but maybe a dark shade, like in your blocks, to bind it perhaps...
If you use a fish to "embellish" that spot, add a couple of extras also...
Tis looking great!
I look forward to see what you've decided... 8-)
Bravo!!! This was so interesting following. It is an amazing piece.
I would try one more time to fix it, on a day when you are "in the zone". :)
This is beautiful! I agree with the dark binding.
