Here are a couple of bags I made following a tutorial by Andrea at Welsh Quilter
I totally love them. I'ts a great way to use up scraps, try color combinations and have gifts on hand. I especially like the way she does the handles. It's a very easy way to make them look like they are edged with piping. There may be more to come. I find them rather adictive!

Those are great. I've saved that tutorial as well and I need to get busy making some of my own.
great shape for a bag. I bet you could use string blocks for the squares and do some interesting patterns...
I just bought a pattern at a quilt shop for a bag shaped like that and it is made entirely differently. I think I will have to make one from each set of directions and see which method I like. The bottom seam is the last thing sewn in the other direction and here it is sewn first. Your colors worked great.

Those are cute!
I like bags that zip, and have lots of zippered pockets, because I tend to throw mine across the front seat when I get in the car, etc. Wonder how difficult it'd be to make a zipper fit across the top of that?
