All Together Now

Not a song. A fact.
Sometimes you just have to say it's done and start sewing it all together. I quite like it now but have no idea how I'm going to quilt it. Since it has uneven edges I'll probably do it on my DSM (Domestic Sewing Machine). It's about 40x46 so it won't be too much of a challenge.
But how to quilt it???

One thing I've read but haven't tried is basting a temporary border to a piece to make it wider/longer to quilt. You obviously wouldn't quilt the temp piece or where it attaches but you can move down into the composition and quilt. Once the quilting is done, just remove the extension/temp border.

How about some classic lines for quilting?

The result is lovely! Stitching pattern: Perhaps pairs of diagonal lines, crisscrossing? Nothing round, I don't think.

This may be one of my very favorites of yours.

I would have never guessed that this is only 40 x 46-ish. That just makes it more adorable!

You've probably already started quilting. I can see something in the circular fashion for a quilting design. Enjoy!

I love this one. My eye keeps moving around the space and the colors are fantastic. Can't wait to see it quilted.
