I made several more hats today and a couple of starbursts. The one on the left is made with ribbon that is red with gold edging on each side. I really like the look of that one and I will probably make a couple more, or as many as I have ribbon. I have some silver ribbon and was trying that when I ran out of bobbin thread. I took that as a signal that it is time for a break.
My question is, should I leave in the flowery hats or would it look better if they were all red?
Here is a quote that someone sent me yesterday. I think it kind of suits this quilt.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO, what a ride!"

I also started quilting the newly pinned burgundy quilt and it is going much better. I have about half the vertical lines sewn. That leaves the other half of the vertical, all the horizontal, the angles and the borders. Whew! There's a lot to do yet.

Dear Joyce,

I think your blog is interesting for crafters. Quilters have a patience that no other crafter has.

I would like to invite you to take part in web forum for International Webloggers day, June 14th, 2006.

We are hosting the forum site here in Ontario.

We would like to know how you feel about your blogging experience, and if you have ideas about where blogging can go in the future.

You can learn more about International Webloggers Day on my site, and there are two links available there too.

Thanks, Lynn Tucker

What a fantastic quote - I think I might pin it to my desk at work. Glad to hear the burgundy quilt is going better - I'm struggling with one of my own at the moment so I'm keeping a weather eye on how you're getting on.

The flowered hats "read" as red from far away (aka, here) plus they look sparkly like that ribbon starburst. I vote for leaving them in. All marvelous.
