Geese

I made a goose that I am quite happy with except that it is bigger than the horse. I started a smaller one but have not yet put on the feet. I may also make the tail feathers stick up a bit more so it will seem a bit more perky. I'll save the big one for another quilt. Maybe I need to make Chicken Little and friends.
The batteries just died in my wireless mouse so I am doing everything with the digital pen and drawing pad. I have found out that I am a creature of habit. I have reached for the mouse dozens of times in the last few minutes. I found lots of batteries but of course I can't find two that work.

That's one thing I love about primitives---sizes don't have to be realistic--or proportional!!! Love those geese.

I like the big goose! You could call the quilt "The goose rules the roost!". Cute.

Cheers!

I like both of the geese -- but have to agree that it seems odd for a goose to be bigger than a horse. Unless it's "mother" goose of course -- then, hey, anything goes!

The battery thing used to happen to me all the time too. With the number of things in our house that now need batteries (toys, monitors, more toys, etc) we've taken to buying in bulk and actually bought a battery organizer. Of course, it's one of the few things I CAN find, but anything that can prevent meltdowns is welcome around here.

The geese look great. I bet you could win a big prize for having a goose the size of a horse! The goose rather reminds of a Garrison Keillor story about some hunters in Lake Wobegon who make a duck decoy the size of a small car to make sure that the ducks flying overhead will notice it.

I love all the animals you are creating. If it was me I would not care about the size. If it looks like a goose then it is a goose.

Your farm is growing very fast. Do you still have a barn big enough to put all the animals in?! Thank you for sharing the great pictures of the show, always inspiring. And one´s own quilts look completely different from at home, don´t you think? Take care.

Joyce I don't think it matters a jot that the goose is bigger than the horse. They're bold as brass anyway!

Great work!!

those are great animals. Don't change, challenge yourself to make them work. There's almost nothing you can't fix in quilting/sewing.
