Yet More Blocks

Here is the current status of my quilt. It is certainly outside the block. At the top you can see the rejected overdyed blocks. They are just too dark. They will be useful somewhere else though, and are headed to my parts drawer which is getting pretty full. I will still spend some time working on the best arrangement and I have to make a few more blocks. I now have a choice of making setting triangles or just whacking it off to make a rectangle. In the book she does both (but not on the same quilt!). I will probably end up making at least a few setting triangles to see what that looks like. I may want to make it somewhat larger too. The blocks finish at 6 inches square but once they are sewn together, the whole thing is a lot smaller than when they are laid out on the design wall.

I'm really bummed, but the photo didn't load on my computer (I've been getting that a lot lately). I'll be at a different computer tomorrow and will try again.

the photo loaded fine for me on firefox... I really like how its turning out. The over dye really is a little much, your decision to re-do the stripe blocks was worth it :-)

I love the warmth that your newly dyed blocks bring to the quilt. And I had no idea that they were only 6"! How sweet!

Those background blocks look perfect! I like them much better than your first choice. They add depth, but don't over power the other blocks.

Looks good with the blocks you have. The darker colour was not such a good choice.

I can see it -- on a different computer now! I like the quilt! I think I'd like the overdyed color, too. It's really fun.

Must tell you how interesting your blocks are - I love bright colors and your combinations are wonderful - I'm not so good with color groups.
But, I have no clue how you did them, so I am forced to check on that book!
