Back to the K Quilt

The K quilt is back up on the wall in yet another arrangement. I might go with this one. You could spend your life re-arranging these pieces. Right now it's looking like a black border but I'll have to see how much black I have left when I am finished the dragon. I have drawn the dragons on the border and am ready to load that quilt and try something new with the big machine. I've never quilted anything nearly that complex on it.
I finished quilting Alison's circles this morning. I learned that if you are going to do raw edge applique, glue the edges down before trying to quilt them. It would have saved a lot of trouble. I was holding the edges of the circles down with an awl while trying to do a nice meander with my left hand on the machine. Elmer's glue would have been a better solution.

Oh No! So the circles gave you a bit of a problem?? So you'll remember to take care of the edges next time before quilting. I like this arrangement of Kaleidoscopes the best of all the ones you've shown. Black border will look fab.

Doesn't the raw edge applique get sewn down before it even gets to the quilting stage? I wouldn't know cause I haven't done that myself yet...
The K-quilt is looking good! About how big will it end up being?

I'm liking the black for the border on your K quilt. I can easily see where you could spend days arranging and rearranging those blocks!

It's looking great. I think you're right about the layout -- you could play forever. But for all your layouts, you could look at this quilt forever. The blocks are so captivating!
