We have been in recovery mode since our party. I did finish this one up except for the hanging sleeve.
The exciting news is that I have been asked to do a workshop on my techniques for these wall hangings. I have never even attended a quilting workshop, let alone given one. I do have 30 years teaching experience in elementary classrooms though. A roomful of quilters can't be much more difficult than a room full of nine year olds. Or can it??

How did you finish it? Did you sandwich it with the batting and the backing and if so, when did you quilt it? When it was all done? I love the colours in this and the leaves/flowers.
That's awesome! You will do great!
That's great that you were asked to do a workshop for your techniques! So far, I've found quilters are much easier to teach than college students, if that gives you any comfort. :)
This piece is gorgeous!
The biggest difference in teaching adults is that children HAD to attend school and the quilters CHOOSE to attend the class. Good luck in planning your workshop.
Another big difference is that quilters have longer attention spans... at least some do!
I've been teaching quilting workshops for a while and love it. You have fine tutorials, so you'll do well. Same as teaching kids...you need an outline and samples for touching and admiring. Your excitement about your quilts will be contagious.
Well, aren't you sizzling hot?!
What fun! I am sure you will be very good, & yes, the quilters will be eager to attend, so it should be very interesting.
Joyce,
I am sure that you will do a wonderful job and have a great time sharing your love of quilting with other quilters.
Your new pieces are really lovely..
Regards,
Anna
Congrats on the workshop and good luck with the women! I think we can be naughtier than any kids that you taught:)
Congratulations on both counts, Joyce. You'll enjoy it.
I'll bet there's a whole new career path opening up for you! Congratulations.
