More of Saskatchewan
As we were driving from Moose Jaw down to Weyburn, Sask. on our way home we came across the Dog River elevator. This is where the TV show, Corner Gas was filmed. (Sorry, only in Canada).
This is the gas station and restaurant built specially for the show, I assume as they are on the outside of town across from the elevator. Too bad they stopped doing the show. If they had done another season, they probably would have been filming.
And here is a view of a huge canola field in flower. Some people find this kind of scenery boring but I love the huge sky and the fact that you can see such a distance.

Beautiful scenery. The field of canola flowers looks just like the mustard flowers that we have here in CA. When we go to Napa in the spring these yellow flowers are everywhere. Thanks for the pics:)
My guys all loved the Corner Gas set -- we visited it twice while the show was in production and once met Eric Peterson walking his dog. I have pix to prove it. lovely prairie shots too.
Thanks for posting, I went through that area too but I didn't know what those fields were, I thought they were mustard fields.
I was born in Weyburn! I have also visited the Corner Gas set when they were filming. I am like you - I love the scenery! It looks like the weather cooperated when you went through.
I love those pics. When we first came to live in Oz, I was struck by how huge the sky seemed!
The scenery is beautiful to me too...the sky is so big. Isn't it fun to see something in real life that you know from TV?! Cool experience.
OOh, nice pictures. I watched Corner Gas and thought it was very good...sorry to see it's no longer on.
Thanks so much for sharing your pictures.
Hugs
Gorgeous scenery! What a fun thing for the two of you to do: Just drive and enjoy. ;-)
