This morning the sunrise was amazing. There were very strong sundogs on each side of the sun. We usually only see sundogs when it is extremely cold but today is relatively mild. It must be moisture in the air or maybe fine snow. Whatever the cause, it's beautiful. There is a bit of a reflection from the door in the middle left area that has nothing to do with the sunrise. My day is already made!

Gorgeous! Aren't you glad you're a morning person!
We didn't have any sundogs because of a bit of cloud cover...but I was thinking this morning how bitter sweet the snow is. It creates a ton of work and of course, some sadness and hardship. But the beauty that it brings to our environment. It's extraordinary!
Thanks for sharing your morning, Joyce! Happy Monday to you.
I don't know if I have ever seen sun dogs in person. thanks for capturing it and sharing it.
Well until now I never heard of sundogs. Thanks for sharing.
Great photo Joyce!
Catching up here...
You look well bundled with your snowshoes on there, and your quilt top looks great! 8-)
That was quite a bit of snow we got over Christmas! Looks quite blustery on your video there...
Happy stitchings!
I guess we Judiths are all alike, as I had never heard of them either! What a gorgeous view. Have a terrific day....how else could it go after such a great start!
xo
Oh Wow! I think we used to get those back home in Northern California-Nevada. I have to check with the 'rents on that one though. As a kid... sometimes you get confused. At any rate, who cares! These photos are magical and thank you for sharing!!!
What a beautiful gift.
I've seen sundogs, but never ever such blazing ones. Awesome!
I love your photo. It is NYE here this evening. We have been a little let down by friends who were to visit, but we are not really fussed about such things, so we are just lazing about, enjoying relaxation.
I wish you, & all your family a wonderful, productive, healthy, & joyful 2010!!
I've never heard of "sun dogs" before but they sure are wonderful! And you caught them on film! Wonderful!
