Design Wall

My design wall is nothing if not busy these days. I have sewn a bunch more random blocks. The sky quilt has been rearranged umpteen dozen times and I'm still not satisfied.

Here it is completely reversed. Maybe having the red in the middle makes it too much of a target though. I am thinking I'll leave the sashing off if I can get it arranged with no obvious lines where colors contrast too much. Right now I can see a couple of places on the left side. The problem is that when you move one, you have to move half a dozen more. Luckily, I love this part of the process and I'll know when it looks right to me.
What do you think, red in the middle or yellow/orange in the middle?

what fun to play like this...enjoy enjoy...matters not what i or others think let your own muse decide. I am sure there are hundreds of configurations that will all be equally beautiful when done.

Joyce,

I LOVE your colors. Too often quilters are afraid to have fun with colors, but not you! :)

Once you get this project quilted, you should visit LujeanQuilt.com for some free patterns and then share your finished work....I really like the sky quilt with the red in the middle and cant wait to see the finished project.

My mother and I started a new online Quilting community, LujeanQuilt.com and we would love to have you check it out and review it on your blog.

At LujeanQuilt.com you can talk with other quilters or learn new patterns for projects and borders. The site is fun and most importantly FREE!

We would appreciate you taking the time to give the site a look!

This site is built on YOUR input and we look forward to hearing it!

Have fun! Enjoy! And happy quilting!

Thanks!

Adam

I like the light in the center too, though it would be interesting seeing what the blue in the center would look like... 8-)

I love your crazy string blocks. The added skinny strips cutting across the fat ones is wonderful.

The top photo arrangement of the sky quilt doesn't fit together as "seamlessly" as the second one. That first one would benefit from sashings to bridge the areas. The red spot one is interesting, but there's more mystery and dynamism to the first photo.

I think the top photo shows a diffused flower,I like it that way. Your string blocks are great, such a riot of colour. I can see that your having fun with this one. Lovely

I like that first arrangement. The one next to it is very dynamic also. Good job on both.

I had to delete my first comment as it made absolutely no sense when I reread it! I like your top photo here best.

Love all the string blocks! YOu have a hard choice there and I don't know what I would do. But I trust that whatever you do will be wonderful. You always do.
