Our internet connection has been playing up again and is off more than it is on. Hence the lack of posting.
I found this book in the library and just had to try some of the boxes.
I am not very good with the glue gun and didn't have the perle cotton to go over the plastic mesh so the lid is a bit of a disaster.
Tomorrow I will try to get the cotton and maybe make a new lid. I also need to make the thimble box for the middle. There are a couple of other boxes in the book that I want to try but my new quilt is calling me too.

How Sweet! My daughter made me one of these boxes, ages ago. I must take a pic of it, & post it. She also made one for my mother, who just loved it, & kept it in her lounge. Daughter has more patience than I do, though I had to learn it for the painting of my dolls faces!
great etui!
Hey, that's pretty snappy *s* What a fun project.
I agree! Cute box. I, too, had one given to me years ago by a quilting friend. She put a stuffed elephant on the lid! It's great.
What a neat project! They'd make good Christmas gift boxes. :)
Fab box - looks very complicated to make!
Yikes! I love it how you just jumped right in and made it Joyce :) It's great. But I think it might actually send me round the twist!!
Congrats for being able to make one right from the book!

That is sooo lovely! Can't wait to see the finished version.
Oooh! Looks like fun...and a nice change. One could really make some contemporary ones with hand dyeds and beads and fibers and.... Enjoy, Joyce!
