Choices

Here are a few possibilities for the K Quilt. I thought Prairie Points would end the sides and top nicely but I think they are too small. Maybe scallops would be better. I also tried a few options in the left corner but I'm not happy with any of them. Right now, if I add the burgundy and black borders, the quilt will measure about 74x94. The length is all right but the width is a bit odd. I might put it on my queen bed and see how it looks. We may just have to decide that it's a topper and won't hang down on the sides.

Have you tried any gray prints after the red border and before the black border?

I can see how you're struggling to find the solution for the borders for this quilt. Would it bother you if the borders are not the same width? Any chance some kaleidoscopes could leak out the sides of the quilt and then add the border? Just an idea.

I don't recall, do you have any fabric left that you used for the K Quilt? I thin boarder of that might be nice...?...

This is a very contemporary quilt so my suggestion would be to stay away from scallops as they are mostly associated with forals, pastals, romantic or baby quilts (at least in my opinion). I like "Quilter Going Bananas" suggestion to have a few of the internal blocks spill into the border. This would look spectualar.

I'm going with Rosaling and Quilter Going Bananas. I think they should overflow into the border.

This quilt is going to spectacular!

No matter what you decide . . . it's just going to be spectacular!

This is an amazing quilt! I like the idea of blocks spilling into the border. Maybe you could use some gray along with the bright red and black? Or dare I suggest white?

I love that quilt! I've always been partial to red and black...that one is beautiful. No prairie points

i think keeeeep it simple!
it's japanese fabric which is sorta got a zen thing, but it's made into a pretty wild and complicated pattern. i think keep it as plain as possible. i'd just do a thick black border all around with maybe a thing dark blood red in the middle or something. no fussy details.
just imagine joe lying on it. haha okay maybe not that, but think masculine and simple.
are you still going to put a swatch of dragon on the back? maybe all black with a dragon swath around the pillow mark framed by red? lol
sorry i haven't been in touch for a few days but we've been in melbourne at molly's wedding and my stupid computer has finally come home from the repair shop but not set up yet so i'm still stealing time on joe's laptop.
he's so not impressed as he's trying to do music.
we are at the airport at the moment but we will be home this afternoon so i'll try to get it all set up then and send you a biiiiig letter and hopefully photos too!
