Going Green

I had a large gift to wrap so I made a large gift bag. It can be used later for laundry or shopping so I made it not too Christmassy. I also put a drawstring in the top so I could close it. I may look for green string to tie in so it will be more in keeping with the season. It has a big pocket on the front and back. The bottom is 14 inches square and it is about 20 inches tall. It's a bit too square to be a shopping bag but that was the size of the gift.

It might be a good bag to store a quilt in too.

It's a great idea for wrapping a gift. Just don't make too many plans for the bag unless you know the recipient will give it back! ;)

looks like we had the same idea. I made a bunch of gift bags yesterday. good way to use up Christmas uglies.

One of my friends used fabric to wrap all her gifts one year, on the understanding that everyone gave her back the fabric!

What a truely fabulous idea. I should make these to use each year in red, blue and gold for my three gifts.

I love it! We didn't use any paper this year to wrap gifts. We'll be able to use the stockings again next year and I'll be thinking of some other stashbusting ways to make gift wrap for next year.

Last year I made gift bags of varying sizes, and it was so fun this year when I got to wrap gifts and barely had to use any paper at all. I love how the pockets formed in your bag, between the handles. I'll have to remember that idea. Was your plan to keep this bag, or was it for the recipient to keep?

What a great idea!

I've thought about making my kids cute pillow cases and using them as gift wrap but haven't got around to it yet. There's so many great projects I'd love to try but not enough hours in the day. Me being online doesn't help either. LOL
