Winter Words
I started these words last winter and then got tired of working with such cold colors in such cold weather. Now that it has been -30 to 40 the last few days, I brought them out again. I was able to assemble them this time quite easily once I realized that I needed to eliminate one big tree. There are a few things I'd change if I were doing it again but all in all, I'm just happy to be finished assembling it. I still have to sew on the border. That fabric looks like snowflakes from a distance but is actually tiny white flowers. I guess they signal that spring is around the corner.

"brrr" is exactly how I've been feeling lately -- even in California! I love your snow-dusted trees!
I'm glad you dusted this off again. It is one of my favorites.
Nice to see these agains. I love how your auroras dance in the quilt, and the grey of the blizzard against the white, and the icicles. you're right, this is the perfect weather to get at a project like this. BRRRRRRRR!
I like this, I remember when you started it. I love your color choices. It is certainly WINTER!!!!
Oh, I remember these . . . . it turned out just right.
I think this was the right time to finish it, before the "real" winter hits.
Fun quilt... I like the contrast of making something warm with all those cold words on it.
I say BRRRR that is very cold, and time to stay in and get creative,,lol,, which you are,, wow love the quilt,,, great inspirations, happy stitching, Lise
Given the cold wintery weather we all seem to be having in the west right now, this quilt seems very appropriate!
I wondered where this one had got to. Looking at it does make me feel a bit "brrrr", but the shortest day is nearly here, then it's Christmas, then New Year and before we can blink Spring will be here. (Well, someone's got to be optimistic!)
It is difficult to believe that it is so cold in your part of the world. We are having a warm spell now (it was 61 when Barker and I walked this morning!) and all of my forsythia have begun to bloom! YIKES!!!
xo
wonderful quilt - you did a great job. brrrrr is right - you guys are getting some cold weather. I think I'd have settled in for hibernation with the bears by now if I lived there. Wouldn't see me for months.
Absolutely perfect to snuggle up under all those 'cold' words! Would make you even warmer!
hi..tonya's blog sent me over....ooooo..lots of wording...really 'cool'....i'm still working on doing the lettering....my letters still look too prim and proper...i want them to be wonky-er...i guess practice makes perfect!..nice quilt
WOW! LOve the letters! the fact you got through Auroroborealis, is impressive indeed! the trees look great with snow! nice touch!
Merry Winter Solstice Christmas etc.!
PEace!
