Modeling the Robe

Here is the Tibetan robe being modeled by a reluctant model but there was no one else available. The sun was shining in my eyes and I was being jabbed by several pins. I still have to hand sew down the slit facings, and collar facings, add facings to the bottom and hand sew on the brocade shoulder decorations. The next one will definitely not be quilted. It's quite heavy and cumbersome.
I'm standing in front of our wild flower garden which is in bloom right now.

I just love the part about how the pins are jabbing you! Looks good so far:)

You are a quick sewer! I just love your leaf stamp. Thanks for the hint about tracing around a real leaf on the Speedy-Cut. My free-hand drawing "leaves" much to be desired.

It was hard to picture what the turquoise pieces were when it was laying flat so it is good to see it in perspective. I love the folkwear patterns.

I was wondering how you finished that jacket so quickly. You look beautiful!

I can definitely envision turquoise around the bottom. Nice.

This is beautiful! Absolutely wonderful...And the modelling was very good! I can imagine that it is sort of heavy but I would wear it anyway! It's so unique and personal.

I think your robe is quite classy - I'd love one myself. Unfortunately, I am not as proficient in clothes making as you seem to be :-( .

Good luck wearing it!

Bloody hell Joyce! Nothing like taking on a very complex project! And it looks great. I reckon you should enter this in the wearable quilting section of the next quilting exhibition up your way. The gold leaf stamping is very effective. Thanks for sharing all your lessons learnt with us too!

You look marvelous, Joyce! Now you know what the Project Runway models feel like with all of those pins and things. ;-)
