A Top Finished
Today I put the borders on the Tippy quilt. I'll really have to come up with a better name than that. I also got some backing for the braid quilt but now I am thinking it would be better on this one. That means this one will move up ahead of the braid in the quilting queue. I'll look for a darker brown for the braid. I had planned to put orange on the back of this one but now that I have the brown borders on, I am thinking the brown I got today will be better.
Sorry for the dark picture but I didn't finish until it was dark outside and it never looks as good with the flash. Now that I see it published it's nearly too dark to see. I'll put up a better one tomorrow.
I hope this picture taken in daylight is easier to see.

Well, the photo is a bit on the dark side--but the quilt came together beautifully.
About the barley in the soup--it's optional. This soup only takes an hour to cook, but I guess you could slow-cook it if you wanted to.
The border really looks great on it. As far as the backing is concerned, either color would be fine. Then the binding just needs to look good with both. I sometimes choose the backing fabric to be the closest to the color of the quilting thread I will use on top so I can match top and bottom thread and have it not so obvious on the backing.
Its lovely. Promise you won't laugh, but the orange with the dark colours reminds me of dark chocolate with those crunchy orangey bits!
Doesn't a finish feel so good?
When I clicked on the photo it was a lot clearer. Although those fabrics are not my thing I'm surprised by how much I like it. Just shows we can get stuck in a colour rut ! Well done !!
Looks great . . . and I think 'Tippy Quilt' is a fine name *s*
I'm with Libby, I like the name "tippy quilt" :) It looks great.
I love these tippy, skewed quilts. Yours is no exception
Great quilt! And my brain is purple, too.
I like it. Well done on another finish!
Wow, that looks really impressive. When I retire, I shall quilt. Until then, it appears I shall mark essays, alas.
