A Blogger's Visit

Today Brenda, from Scraps and Strings, dropped in to have a go at quilting on my mid-arm. I think she did a great job on a beautiful quilt that she made using 70s fabric from her mother's stash.

Here is the quilt, finished but not trimmed or bound.

Here is a close up of the quilting where she wrote the word LOVE. Very nice.

How wonderful you two great quilters live near enough to do this sort of thing! I like the hexagons in the border on her quilt.

I didn't realize that the two of you lived so close. None of my quilting friends have a mid or long arm. You're a good friend.

Thanks again for having me. I'm happy with how the project turned out, and I have a new respect for machine quilters. I certainly need more practice before I'd be comfortable with it. Just to set the record straight, I think these fabrics aren't quite so old -- more like 80s and 90s, made in the magic hexagon pattern. For those far-flung bloggers out there--I live nearly two hours away from Joyce, but it was well worth the trip!

I admire you for letting another quilter stitch on your quilt machine, Joyce! I am not sure that I could. Brenda is a lucky friend. ;-)

How lovely to see a hexagon quilt free machine quilted! These quilts are so often quilted in the ditch or tied because people get rather overwhelmed by the pattern!
