I have changed a few things on it and now I like it quite a lot better. We have to go to town this afternoon so I'll see if I feel the same when we get home.
Looking at both photos in your blog, I still like it in the first shot but since you didn't ask for my opinion, ignore the comment. I always tell my children when I have edited their cover letters that the suggestions are mine and they can take it or leave it.
Both versions are good and I think you are right to walk away from it an return with fresh eyes. Work like this will tell you when it is right. Personally I like the latest one and the way that one of the lines seems to connect three of the strips together.
I like them both too. But I'm also a big advocate letting a piece "stew" a bit on a design wall. Your heart (and eye) will let you know which is right and when its done!
