First You Play...

First you play. So the girls went cross country skiing. Luckily our hill is not very steep where they were. Hard to go up, but easy to come down. I won't post the one where they have all fallen down!

Then you work. First an art lesson from Grandpa.

Then sewing time. What a great method of stash busting!

Ariana made a house which she plans to sew into a bag.

Summer made a bag.

Micha is working on polar fleece slippers. Guaranteed to fit.

Sacha made a pillow.
This evening we are planning a wiener roast so there should be more pictures tomorrow.

What lovely happy photos Joyce!
You are so lucky to have such beautiful grandchildren- & they are so lucky to have such great grandparents!

I had always wanted lots of grandchildren but life had other paths.

What fun! Your grandchildren are so fortunate to have you and your husband as role models...and you are so rich for their interest and enthusiasm in what you do!

Love the cross country skiing pics too! The only day that our snow would have been suitable here...I was out stranded in it! Now...our snow crusty and hard. Drat!

Looks like a lot of fun. You know if Grandpa took a step back he'd look like Mercury, with the wings hanging behind his head! Did you make those? They look very cool!

I recognized the Gwen Marston influence in all your houses. I took a Liberated piecing class from her many years ago, just before her 'Liberating Piecing' book was published. It's a great way to work. Way more fun & creative than cutting & sewing 24 blocks all the same.

You all look like you are having such a good time---skiing and sewing all in the same day? What fun memories the girls will have!

The sky looks SO BLUE in these pictures... are you using a filter on your camera lens? I have a couple of polarizing filters, but they don't make things that pretty!

Joyce your family constantly amazes me!! Those girls are so talented and they looked like they were having sooo much fun.

BTW I think that you guys have all the snow!! We are sunny and about 10 degrees here near Ottawa.

Oh! cross country skiing! I am lucky if I manage one cross country ski trip per winter! This year looks like a dud! After that wonderful snowstorm, it all melted and like Katrina in Ottawa it has been above zero ever since! Is it just here or has it been harder and harder to find places that sell cross country skis? I think snow boarding has taken over our sports stores! Oh well there is always quilting!...PS when can I sign up for grandma and grandpa's retreats?

Wow -- it sure looks like you are all having so much fun and busting stash to boot. That's a win-win situation all around. You have some pretty talent grandchildren --the future quilter's of tomorrow.

What a lot of fun you must all have had. I love having my GD over to play in my workroom too. My GS's are all a bit young yet. Your GD's are so lucky.
