Can You Say Giant?

Today I thought I'd make a slightly larger, rainbow colored bag without batting to use as a grocery bag. Good idea but I should have used 3.5 inch squares rather than 4 inch. Or maybe even 3.25 inch squares. The colors look fine but it is HUGE. If I fill that with anything but bread (which I don't buy because I make my own) it will be too heavy to lift. I am not a very tall person so big bags don't really suit me. If I were a 6 footer it might be a different story. Maybe I can make Simba into a lap dog and carry him around in it. Oh yes, I forgot, he weighs 90 pounds now. Maybe not.

That is gorgeous too! Perhaps you could use it for carrying new batting or fabric? LOL. Though fabric can get heavy in bulk!

That always bothers me too, if the bag is big, you can't lift it after you fill it. You could use it for your paper products, napkins, paper towels, Kleenex, etc.

I've made a big one like that for shopping and it's fantastic. It can hold so much and it gets complements all the time.

Maybe you should do a contest like that other lady did? That was cool, I thought...
Maybe the winner of the quilting inspired haiku gets the prize...

Perhaps it could live life as an overnighter bag when you and your dh go traveling? The kind that just holds enough for a night? I love your colors, Joyce!!!

Great bag and colors! Maybe a beach bag??? Towel, sunscreen, book, sunglasses, hat, etc. It looks tropical to me!

Cheers!

What great ideas in Comments for your large bag! Love the colors and also the hand-dyed one in previous post.

It's beautiful! Maybe you can start to knit a huge pair of socks for the giant who fits this bag. The bag will be the socks-in-progress container.

I'm laughing .... because when I made my bucket tote, my squares were 4". :o) But, since I'm nearly 6', it's the perfect size for me and for travelling. I sure can stuff a lot of things in that bag.

Thank you for sharing the link to Welsh Quilter's tutorial. I made one myself! Check out my blog if you want to see the results. She did such a great job preparing the tutorial and posting pictures! Looks like you've been having fun with it. Now I want to make a smaller version.
