I have been playing a bit more with the new camera. We are still thinking we will take it back and get a different one, probably a Cannon but higher end. If we want a cheap travelling camera I will look for one of those that is about the size of a credit card. I hate carrying cameras. Lol.
Here are some chickens that possibly were some of the inspiration for the chicken quilt.
This one is for hard boiled eggs and the chickens are salt and pepper shakers.
This one is a mustard container I think. The chickens bob their heads as if eating. I guess with my new camera I could do a little video of that. Hmm... maybe later. These chickens are also salt and pepper shakers.
This one has been broken and rather badly repaired at some time. I love it though because it was my favorite when I was little. The top of the hen lifts off and inside you can put a hard boiled egg. When we had been sick and were feeling well enough to eat, my mother used to let us have a hard boiled egg served in this chicken. It used to make me feel better at once. That's why I love it even though it is mended. Maybe it's in much the same shape as I am!

Very cute! I think having a hard boiled egg in that pink hen would make me feel better too! :)
I wish I still had one special bowl I remember from when I was little. Things like that, and their associations, certainly do have the power to make us feel better.
I would love the red one, too. I bet that chick can make you feel better . . .even today *s*
What a lovely post! I love all the chickens & can see why you would feel better when you were given the red chicken, & egg.
Do show us more.
I love those green chickens Joyce, reminds me of some of my Nan's old crockery. They look like wonderful inspiration for you, thank you for sharing.
*hugs*

Very cool chickens! Especially the green egg set!
Very fun. Love the colors on that pink and green one. good luck with the camera.
Very cool pieces! I especially love the one for deviled eggs...but all are terrific!
Hi Joyce!
I didn't know you were a chicken collector also! We learn something new everyday, don't we! I have several of your last chickens in my possession...off hand, I know of a light (almost chartreuse) one and also a white milk glass one that came from a distant cousin. Now we have another thing in common.
xo
I have some chickens things like this! Ours are all white, pink and light blue though - but otherwise they look exactly like yours! My mom always put salt in them for green onions! I hated green onions but always wanted my own chiken at the table!
