Poor Simba
Simba was running across a field the other day when we were out walking and he hurt himself. We are not sure what happened but it could have been from the stubble left on the field. Anyhow, he got a cut in his left armpit. (Do dogs have armpits?) He lounged around all the next day but today it seemed that his leg was swollen so we thought we better take him to the vet. He got his leg x-rayed and they found nothing broken so he is now on antibiotics. I guess the cut is in a place that is hard to get at to lick. He has had some other minor cuts and when he licks it there is no infection. It could also be that the thing that cut him caused the infection. Anyway, he is lying by the back door soliciting sympathy today. And getting it, I might add. We are expecting company this afternoon and a couple of them are among his favorite people. The grandchildren who own him are also going to try to come and give him some extra affection. They are in the process of moving though, so it may not work out. As soon as they get moved in, by the end of the month, Simba will be going back to live with them again. It will be strange around here to be dogless again.

Ahh - a couple of extra cuddles for Simba from Harper and I, please *s*
hope the antibiotics work quickly and Simba's able to enjoy the rest of fall and being out and about...
Sending kisses and hugs from me and my three pups who once in awhile come in with nicks and bangs.
Hope Simba gets better soon. Poor baby!
Awwww, poor Simba. He looks like such a sweetie. Hope he's feeling better soon!
what a sweetie pie. glad he's getting lots of attention and love.
Poor Simba! Good Mommy for taking him in right away. Those antibiotics should set him up right as rain. I hate it when our "babies" aren't 100%.
Poor Simba! He is so handsome, I am sure he will recover well.
You are going to miss him.
If dogs have armpits, cats have lips... lol
Glad he's doing ok!
Get well wishes from our Barker, who just loves to run free out in the fields!
xo
I think you'll have to get yourself a dog when Simba goes. There will be plenty of dogs needing a home. I can't imagine life without a pet.
Poor guy. Glad he's making a strong recovery.
