Merry Sunshine

I have started quilting Sweet Dreams but it doesn't show much yet. I have put shingles on most of the houses. I can only quilt for a short time before getting frustrated with it so I am working on Merry Sunshine at the same time.

I tried the rising sun and I think I like the look of it but I am not happy with the blue. I will either buy or dye some that is lighter and brighter. This one is too turquoise and too dark. I don't have any fabric on hand that appeals to me for this part of the sky. I guess it's another trip to the quilt store. Sigh. I will still need something on the bottom to balance the huge sun on the top. I'm not sure what that will be. I had thought of bordering the whole thing with black and white. Now that the top seems to want to be round, that won't be an option. I guess it will tell me what it wants when the time comes.

I really like the round top. A saw tooth border may work for the sides and bottom.

that sun will be stunning with the right blue in it!

i like that ! the top looks so cool!
maybe the bottom could be a similar shape but two tones of grass or even a garden with stripes of different veggies (going with the farmer theme...)
anyway, i really like the sun bit - cool!

picket fence or checkerboard? I like the sun, blue doesn't seem the wrong color on my monitor, but I know the colors are never quite the same as in life. good luck.

How much more do you plan to add to the bottom?

The only things I can think of to go with the theme are... a long row on the bottom with a rumpled bed, still unmade... or a row of breakfast things. Orange juice, eggs, milk, cereal, bowl of oatmeal, etc. lol

Joyce - it's inspired! Well done. I don't think I've seen a round top on a quilt before! Excellent!

Oh fabulous! The blue looks great on my screen, but is probably way off the colour in real life. A round top will be really cool.

Looking soooo good. The people are wonderful. So much fun to play with various colors for the sunshine and find just what you love. I would want to try differnet yellows, I think. I never know until I see them.

Oooh - I really like it! I even like the blue . . . I don't seem to use blue a lot, but that is a nice shade *s*

Yes, I agree with you, a lighter shade of blue, maybe.
good Morning!

I love the round top! And I don't think you need much on the bottom. maybe a small strip or something, but I like it the way it is! I love how you did this!
