MAM Quilting

Today I finished quilting the MAM and got the binding on. I am half way around with the hand sewing. I am quite happy with how the free hand spirals turned out. The leaves on the borders are slightly less successful but I look on this quilt as a practice piece.
The backing is actually green but looks gray in the picture.
It is very cold here today but also sunny as you can see, so it's cozy and warm inside the house.

Not a moment to soon . . .you are going to need it to bundle up against the cold *s*

Great job on the quilting. Now you can bundle in it while you sew the binding.

The spirals look great!! Oh boy is that cold. I lived in Winnipeg when I was 15 and my long straight hair would be frozen strands by the time I walked to school - it was 1972. I know what -50 feels like!! Cold!!!!

That looks like a wonderful effort for a Practice. I think you did an amazing job.

I can't begin to imagine how cold that is! So being inside quilting is just the right activity !

Well Joyce I know what minus 30 is like when I lived in canada ... the UK has much nicer climates... I would still prefer warmer weather then here .. how sad is that .. Do have a great time on your trip to Australia... I am GREEN with envy... take tons of pics .. see you on your return.

Isn't it amazing how bright sunshine in January and February means bitter, bitter cold? UGH. Stay warm -- though, with that lovely quilt to cuddle under I'm sure you are :0).

Such pretty quiltinG! Love the spirals, they give such depth and texture, the back is as great as the front.

You sound SO ready to be over here....got the fake tan and bikini ready as well?
TYou are going so well with your quilting machine, I am really impressed, the MAM looks great, did you know we are kind of meant to call them crumb chaos or something else similar due to a copyright issue...I had to change mine, as did Patti and others.
Lots of love, Tracey

Looks good, Joyce. I think a MAM quilt needs a curvy all-over pattern like this to counteract the squares, and the scrappyness. Have a look at my MAM quilted with scalloped teardrops. Nearly as good as yours!
