Today was thrift shop day again and I got a couple of treasures. I looked at a marble mortar and pestle when I went Boxing Day shopping but decided to spend the $25 on fabric instead. I'm glad I did because this one cost me only 50 cents.
Then we found this little container with tiny little forks in it. It's only plastic (too bad it's not Chinese Jade) but at 25c, just too cute to pass up.
And finally, this green glass jar called out to come home with us. I'm not sure what it will be used for but I'm sure we'll find something. I couldn't get a good photo of it. I should have waited for daylight I guess.
And what is this for? I couldn't resist it.

Individual angel food cakes? Fantastic finds.
Some very nice finds, Joyce. I think I'd use the jar for a vintage button collection.
my gran used a pan like you show to bake donuts rather then frying them...
I immediately thought of doughnuts. I love that green jar and the pestle and mortar is just the right size for crushing spices. I think you'd have a field day at the local brocantes.
Have you started packing yet?
I think that's for donuts... but you could use it for individualized little dessert cakes.

Your colourfull quilts made my day, yesterday. Patchalotmore Marcie gave me a blogger award. I pass it on to you!
I'm going with Libby's answer, although the donut concept is rather intriguing!
I'd have said baked doughnuts or rumbabas
I think baby bundt cakes...
Mmmm...I'm smelling little angel food cakes all baked up...and just right in size. I'll bring the strawberries! ;-)
You always find the coolest of items! I do think that our local thrift store needs to take some lessons from their northerly cousins.
Try taking a photo of the green glass jar in front of something white and it will show up better. It looks petty neat.
I meant PRETTY neat. I need to start proofreading what I write.
Great finds! I need to go thrifting with you one day.
xo
I don't think it's for donuts - they tend to have a more rounded bottom and aren't as deep. I love that green glass thing. I love thrifting. Especially with a friend...
Does your DH go thrifting with you?
Gom will come to the garage sales, but he hate the op shops!
I love your finds! No idea about the last item though.
Great thrift shopping! I love thrift shopping for wool to use for rug hooking. That pan would have come home with me too. I got something similar to it for baking donuts. You can google recipes for the baked donuts or I can send you the ones that I've got.
Had to look at your comments to see if anyone had a solution for your 'spiked' muffin pan. Wouldn't it be cool to bake muffins in them, then flip them and fill them thru the bottom hole with... custard or pudding or even lite whipped cream?
you could also bake apples in the spiked pan...I have a ceramic dish that looks similar, to do 1 apple at a time.
