Park City Girl is hosting a spring quilt show. Here is my entry.
This is the first full sized quilt I ever made. It is all batiks in rainbow colors. The black block at the center top is made of seven hearts pointing into the middle so they form a seven pointed star. It was quilted in the ditch on my domestic sewing machine in sections.
The back is also batiks. I added the borders because the blue I bought was not quite long enough. I'm not sure why I did the satin stitch around the hearts through all the layers but it does add interest to the back of the quilt.

It's lovely Joyce! I love how so many of the favorite quilts are first quilts!
Love the colours in this. Amazed it is your first full sized quilt, it is beautiful.
what a bright cheerful quilt... isn't it interesting to look back later and wonder why we stitced things the way we did... :-)
I just love batiks! Would you share with us how long ago you made this wonderful quilt?
I love the colors in this quilt. It's beautiful.
It is so beautiful on the front and the back. I really like how you did the back with the borders.
Beautiful color:)
Lovely! Love the colors!
What a fun and cheerful quilt! Love how you used the black.
Ooh, Ahh. Just like fireworks!
Joyce - this is marvellous. I adore the colours. For a first quilt it is stunning.
What a great quilt Joyce! Very colorful... You must have felt really great at accomplishing a large quilt at the time hey!!! 8-)
This is very impresive for a first quilt. Mine is a purple hexagon quilt not quite big enough for a single bed.
I love the idea of a rainbow.
Very pretty - my girls are always asking about making a rainbow quilt! Thanks for sharing :)
Wonderful bright quilt!!
So bright and beautiful! I love it!
Wonderful quilt. I love the center square and the fact that your satin stitch becomes such a statement on the back. Lovely quilt.
It's a beautiful quilt and I'll bet it's even more gorgeous and vibrant in real life!
