New Floor

One of the reasons we went to Thompson was to get out of the house while new linoleum was being put into the kitchen-living room area of our house. When we got home it looked like this.

I am quite happy with it. It is a lot darker than what we have had for the last twenty years but it certainly doesn't show dust the way the old one did. Also, we have so many windows that our house has lots and lots of light so a bit darker is not a problem.

I bought some fabric at a quilt store in Plumas and more in Thompson. Then when I got home I found a huge fabric sale going on and this is the result of all three shopping sessions. I may go back to the sale because quilting fabric is on at $3.95/meter and that's hard to beat. I was not crazy about most of the colors and designs but there are a couple more I might like. They also had unbleached cotton very cheap but I'm not sure if it's a fine enough weave that I want to buy it for dyeing. I may get a few yards to try it out and buy more if it works well.

I love the look of the new floor! You have some interesting fabrics there--is that cow print I see peeking out from under the pile? How fun!

looks like a small pile for three separate shopping "sprees"! Hope the new floor hides thread well too :-)

New floor looks lovely!
Mmmm new fabric looks pretty good too!
I went to Spotlight on Sat, but never bought any fabric. i looked about, & thought, I have none of these new fabrics in my stash! I felt quite sad. My daughter & grandson were with me, & my dear little grandson offered us his $2 the tooth fairy gave him for his tooth! Bless him.

Your new floor looks great...nice texture and that color will be great to hide the dust. :)

The new floor looks great. I love that big circle wall that you have separating the two rooms - such a great space and there certainly is lots of light coming in.

Pretty good collection of fabric you got there :))

I like your new floor. It looks like real tile. A friend of mine did her kitchen with flooring like that and I had to lean down and touch it to convince myself it wasn't tile. You do have a lot of doors with windows and windows. I love natural light. How did you get away from 3 places with so little fabric? LOL I'm afraid I help out the economy too much.

Your new floor looks great. It always feels so good to make a new change like that. I'm excited for you for the sales you found and the fun fabric you got.

What a fabulous arched/round doorway! (sorry, the floor is great and all but I'm a sucker for architectural detail -- which makes living in my own little box a bit difficult!)

Love the fabric purchases -- and here's hoping the unbleached cotton works. At those prices, would be a fantastic find!

A new floor that shows less dust in the sunlight has to be a good thing! And you were very restrained with your fabric shopping :)

Your new flooring is stunning. I love that doorway too! Very artistic...which I'm nearly certain that either you and/or your DH are responsible for!

Good luck with your muslin purchase! I love picking different companies up, here and there. My only downfall is that I never seem to record which company is which.

Nice floor, but what really strikes me is that circular doorway (or whatever you call it). Very striking!
