Sweet Dreams Borders

I have put the piano key borders back in the parts drawer. The quilt was just getting too big. I want it for a wall hanging, not a queen sized bed. The piano keys would have meant at least 6 inches more on each side. Without the piano keys the black and white I was planning to use looked too strong and intense. I think I like it better with this blue fabric. It has little castles and moons and stars on it, the perfect images for sweet dreams. I also feel that the blue color mellows the whole thing out a bit and gives a hint of night sky surrounding the little houses.

Here is a close up of the blue fabric.

I am catching up on blog reading - what a great quilt, I can never resist houses on quilts, especially wonky ones.

Oh, I miss the piano keys. Maybe across just the top and bottom? Although by the time you read this, you may already have put the whole thing together because you really are fast.

Oh I just love it! But I really, really love the stars! I've tried them and they come out too symetrical! Yours are wonderful!

Yes Joyce, it looks good.
The black and white fabric strobes when you scroll up or down or sideways....Wow.
Love all the houses but would pick the one on bottom left to live in cause it looks like they have a great vege garden.

Hi Joycem this is looking wonderful, just think, you are half way towards another quilt with the piano keys done already.
The houses and stars look great together and i love the writing.
The purchese today are great colours, and the evening bag handles were a stael, I see no reason why you couldn't have an evening bag to go with your pj's , just don't let the neighbors see you swanning around the house like that , they may lock you up! tracey

I love that border fabric! (yes, the piano keys looked good -- but, well, if it doesn't do what you want it to do -- then it doesn't work!). Your goodies from your recent shopping trip are fabulous. Love those colors!
