Back to Black

I got the binding sewn on the kaleidoscope quilt and now it just needs to be hand sewn on the back. That done, I got back to tha black and white quilt. I used the arrangement I started with, which almost everyone, myself included, liked best. For this one I am stitching the circles on by hand. I am not a big fan of hand sewing but I wanted to put a little batting behind the circles to puff them out a bit and I didn't think I could sew them on properly with the machine. I have three sewn down but my eyes are falling out of my head! The wild patterns on some of the fabric make the head spin. I'll have to do a few and then take a break with something else if I don't want to go blind or crazy or both!

This is just so cool! But I can see why it would make your eyes go crazy!

That looks great. Is it hard to do circles???

I love that quilt. Have you ever visited Dont Look Now? I have her as 'Kellie' in my sidebar. Kellie does wonderful raw edge quilting, & somehow it all looks puffy. I love her work, & am not sure how she does it, but she is now selling patterns, so no doubt the instructions will be in there. The finished result is like Trapunto.

I love the idea of puffing the circles a bit. Take your time. Hand sewing is a very relaxing evening task I've found...it to be rather meditative to do.

My mother has always said that my quilts would make her dizzy. I always laughed, but maybe she had a point.

I love that quilt, but I can see where sewing some of the circles might make you a bit tipsy! LOL I especially love that swirly fabric in the upper right area.

Not only the pattern but working in black and white seems to be much harder on the eyes for some reason.
This quilt is so unique in the layout. I am anxious to see it finished.
