Exchange

Awhile ago I was lamenting my lack of Japanese themed fabrics and threatening a shopping spree. Julie of Floribunda Quilts suggested that she'd like to do a swap of her Japanese fabric scraps for some of my hand dyes. It sounded like a fantastic idea to me. This is what arrived in the mail for me today! There are so many yummy fabrics here. I may not have to go shopping again for ages. (Just kidding!) I think I may have to start another circle quilt using these fabrics. I have also ordered Gwen and Freddy's new book so maybe I should wait until it arrives because I'm sure I'll be inspired to start something based on their ideas. A bit of fabric fondling time would not be a waste of time I'm sure. Stay tuned.

Mary Mashuta has a good book too-Confetti quilts. There is one curvy pattern there that might suit:) Great swap and fabrics, lucky girl!

all you quilters should make a swap shop... you put up what you want to swap and then other people can offer up what they will trade for it and you pick your fave swap...that would be a great way to get rid of fabric you don't want or get unique stuff like hand dyed or snow dyed pieces... like a barter version of ebay! hehe...
you could also swap finished pieces as well and start collecting other people's works - mini versions to full size..that would be cool...
well, then again, i don't quilt so not sure how that would work... but i do sew and have STACKS of fabric piled up... lol

That was a great idea for you and Floribunda to share together! A twist on re-purposing.

Perhaps you've got enough fabric to do a circle...and another quilt (or two) after your new book arrives? ;-)

Happy weekend!

I was very fortunate to take a class taught by Freddy Moran (houses)and thoroughly enjoyed it. I would love to take a class with Gwen Marston as well. I love Gwen's book, Liberated Quilting.
