Border Questions

Here are four possible borders for the scrappy tablecloth. Of course, in the end it may be none of the above. I did have a black piece up but it looked too heavy. I may have to try more than one piece of each choice before I can decide.

Black isn't the answer to everything and is so over used. I like the 2 busy ones, the light (left) one for the interior strips and the one on the right for the outside strips. You probably meant you wanted to use one for all of them.

I like the brown on the left side best. The printed one I think takes away from the design in the middle of the piece and I did not even notice the middle borders until I read they were there. So the solid color sets it off best in my humble opinion.

Thanks for coming to my textile art blog today. You might want to see the African American quilts on http://lynn-nonameblog.blogspot.com on Sunday's post (I think). ;-)

I like the light stripes for the inside and the brown print for the outside... looks like you're not going to get a consensus from the readers!

At first glance my eyes went to your 3rd strip, the stripe one... The dark ones seem too heavy to my eyes, and not crazy about the 2nd one... Just my 2-cents worth... 8-)
Enjoy the sun!

Gosh, everyone has different takes on what works. I'm not going to help here but I'll join the fun. Light. 2nd from the left. Thanks for asking anyway!

Go for blue.

I just want to say that I hate borders - I know that's a strong word but still - I hate putting them on and trying to get them just right and I hate making sure they are just the right color and texture. Oh and yeah - I hate finding the right quilting pattern that goes in them. I would like to throw one more opinion out there and say that only put a border on when absolutely necessary. (okay - that's me getting off my soap box LOL!)(so all of that says - don't put a border one LOL!)
