Lots Done Today

I thought I should make a few more pinwheels just to give them a chance and I quite liked the look of them when there were enough of them. I have to make three more and move some of them around. It's amazing how you can see value so much better on the computer than in person. I was trying to arrange them so there would be a secondary pattern but was only partly successful. I may have to make some more that turn in opposite direction or else mix them up so they look more random...
Next decision: should the setting triangles be black or the solids that are in the 16 patches? I am thinking of a narrow black border and then left-over squares from the 16 patches for another border and possibly a final black one. I don't want it to get too dark, so the inner border might just be an inch or so wide, mainly to stabilize the bias edges of the setting triangles.

I vote for half pinwheels as the setting triangles since you are going to add a black border next.

Yay Joyce! It's looking fab. Now you just have to make more of those dratted pinwheels. Yes, half-pinwheels would be the go I think.

So glad you made more pinwheels, they look great! I like Wanda's idea of half pinwheels for the setting triangles, except then you'll end up with black next to black with your inner border. Maybe your idea of the solids would be good and keep it from getting too dark.

I do like this. The dark solid in the pinwheel is very effective, more than the one with the light.

If you cut setting triangles as half-square triangles, they won't have bias edges.

Sorry--make that quarter-square triangles. The corner ones are half-square triangles. I can give you the sizes if you want.

Oh yes, love the pinwheels! Half pinwheels would look goo in the setting triangles.

the pinwheels are great, and make the quilt pop. good for you on making pinwheels -- mine are always bulky on the centre seam.

Looking very interesting. I have to get going and motivate myself to quilt more but ahhh,,, to find the time. I think maybe the best idea is to schedule the time. HHHHHHmmmm. I will keep checking your site more often and that will help.
